My Ireland – An Interview With Martin Byrne

Martin Byrne – My Ireland (mp3)

This interview took place July 7th between myself and Garden radio presenter [and music player] Peter Donegan.

In this audio we talk about my music’s journey. From the release of my first album to Louise Morrissey covering two of my tracks. From playing guitar at The Fingal Folk Club to the possible release of a second album, a tour and what the future may hold for Martin Byrne and the music you can expect to hear.

*this image was taken in March 2010 when Peter first interviewed me just after the launch of my album My Ireland

New Video: Ireland My Ireland

My latest video release is the first song from my debut album, My Ireland.

The video was shot in it’s entirety within the surrounds of my home town in Fingal North County Dublin.

It is at this point that I must, yet again, give a huge note of thanks to Eoin Delaney and the team at Directing Media who worked with me on making this video. I know a lot of hard editing work took place behind the scenes and on too many occasions I know they were still awake at their desks to see the sun rise just as a fresh pot of coffee went on the boil. A brilliant team.

Thank You so much.

My Ireland and this single is available in iTunes and all good record stores.

Louise Morrissey sings Martin Byrne, Home Sweet Home

louise morrissey home sweet home

In the last few days Louise Morrissey, one of Ireland’s best loved singers and entertainers, has released her recording of one of my songs, Home Sweet Home.

It was a very proud day when my debut album My Ireland was released. It was really something to receive acclaim for my work when I won Singer Song Writer of The Year 2010 at West Limerick 102 fm Annual Awards. But even greater than that has to be the compliment paid when someone as talented as Louise Morrissey decides to record one of my songs.

I think you’ll agree the Louise has turned my words and music into something very beautiful. And in case you may be wondering….. this is the original version. That said, personally, I prefer Louise’s take on it.

A New Look Martin Byrne Website

As you can see some great work has been done very recently from an online perspective.

The Martin Byrne Website has got an entirely new coat of paint. Add to that the new look blog which will host all of the latest news and happenings in my world of music.

My facebook page is now really easy to find and much better looking – take a look over at Facebook.com/MartinByrneMusic

Apart from that you ask…. Well The Martin Byrne Youtube page has also been set up where you will find of of my latest video’s. Once again so easy to find at: Youtube.com/MartinByrneIreland

This has all happened so fast over the last week and behind the scenes Dublin’s finest Landscape Gardener Peter Donegan and computer whiz kid is the man I have to thank for making all the internet changes happen.

I know Peter primarily from The Fingal Folk Club were we play guitar together, but I would also be more than aware of his abilities as one of Dublin’s great gardeners. I can only but highly recommend and thank him.

His own blog which I really enjoy can be found at: blog.doneganlandscaping.com Peter also presents The SodShow, Dublins garden radio show on Dublin City Fm – as you can gather from this picture.
